Next RTI Advanced Radio Course Intake Announced For July 3

The next intake for RTI’s Advanced Radio Course has been announced for July 3, 2017!

RTI’s Advanced Radio Course is specifically designed to meet the needs of the Australian radio industry, with emphasis on the commercial and national broadcasting industry segments. The curriculum combines practical skills development with theoretical information that equips students with a thorough understanding of the place of radio in the contemporary media business environment.

The course covers many areas of commercial radio, including:

  • Announcing and presentation
  • Audio production
  • Voiceover
  • Copywriting
  • Programming
  • News
  • Interviews
  • Online content and social media
  • and more!

Along with the course material, you’ll get the opportunity to spend a week of work experience in an actual radio station, as well as the experience of two major live broadcast simulations during the course.

On completion of our Advanced Radio Course, students should be able to:

  • Prepare and present live and automated on-air shifts
  • Produce, edit and mix recorded content for broadcast
  • Research, prepare and present interviews and news
  • Write, voice and produce broadcast quality promos and commercials
  • Prospect, pitch and sell radio and online advertising
  • Understand and use online broadcast tools to deliver radio content on the internet
  • Use social media to enhance their professional profile and build audience
  • Describe station programming and management policy based on audience demographics
  • Understand the role of radio in a fast changing global communication environment
  • Develop a career plan for employment in the radio industry

RTI’s Advanced Radio Course is widely recognised in the radio industry, with recent graduates scoring gigs with Triple M Esperance, Coast FM Warrnambool, Zoo FM Dubbo, Magic 1059 Port Augusta, TRFM Traralgon, NOVA Entertainment, Triple M Melbourne, KIIS 101.1, triple j, and FOX FM.
